Welcome, Revive 45 Challengers!

I am so excited to have a group of like-minded people to rally together as we attack the New Year head-on. Not only is it so much more fun to be part of a team, but together we’ll be able to celebrate the good days and help get each other through the tougher ones.

In creating this challenge, I thought back to the beginning of the pandemic and the things that helped me thrive. As the world seemed to shut down, I knew I needed to find ways to attack the situation, not play defense; to be active rather than reactive. Otherwise, I would risk feeling like a victim, which would negatively affect not just my mindset, but my kids, my colleagues, and my customers. Instead, I told myself that I was going to view the time as an opportunity, something given to me as a gift, an opportunity to grow and lead by example.

So, what could I do to inspire myself and my kids? First, I knew that being cloudy in the morning wouldn’t help anything, so I stopped drinking alcohol. I also knew that I needed to exercise with a goal in mind. I needed to meditate. I needed to read inspiring things. I’d always wanted to write, and though I’ve never considered myself a creative type, I decided to begin and end each day with several pages of written reflection. I had done many of these things throughout my life before the pandemic, but never with very much focus. Ultimately, I realized that what my life needed most was focus.

I started giving my full focus to these pursuits in March, and in June I completed 50 days in a row of an intense challenge involving all these activities and more. I felt so proud and strong after the challenge that I was determined to do it again. I decided that the start of the New Year would be the perfect time, an opportunity to emerge from a period of stress with pride that it hadn’t gotten the best of me.

The Revive 45 Challenge evolved out of everything I’ve experienced this past year and beyond.

I’ve always been interested in self-improvement and have read countless books on different approaches to personal development. As the CEO of LesserEvil, I’ve learned so much about both nutrition (as I design all our new products) and entrepreneurship (I have survived so many near-death business experiences). Becoming a CrossFit L1 Coach has given me greater insight on fitness training, while becoming an Acharya (kind of like a meditation coach) has helped me more consistently achieve mindfulness. So, the Revive 45 Challenge is a culmination of everything I have tried to bring together in my life!

I hope that this experience will be educational and transformational for you. There are no fees or other requirements from us, and I promise that if you finish this challenge without missing any of the tasks, you will see an incredible difference in yourself. Once you know you have the discipline to take on a challenge like this, you’ll have the confidence to tackle other goals that may have intimidated you in the past. I look forward to opening up a more direct line of communication with you all soon and sharing more resources that should help make this experience as fulfilling as possible. Stay tuned for those, and in the meantime, get ready to go get ‘em. It all starts right now!

With best wishes for the New Year,

Charles
